Dr. Yang was born in Beijing, China. He attended medical school at the University of Iowa, College of Medicine and then completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Yang fulfilled a fellowship in body imaging at Stanford University Medical Center.

Dr. Yang is certified by the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the American College of Radiology. Dr. Yang joined Valley Radiologists in 2003.
